Homeschool Family Legacy

How to Find Local Homeschool Resources – OCEANetwork Conference 2024

Homeschooling can be a lonely road. Sometimes it can feel impossible because we can lack community, resources, and confidence. While this movement has grown from hundreds of thousands when I was homeschooled to over 3 MILLION students, it can still be challenging to find local homeschool groups and like-minded Christian people. If you feel like you need local homeschool help and you’re in Oregon, then I invite you to come to the OCEANetwork Conference in Albany, Oregon!

The OCEANetwork Conference is more than just an event—it’s a lifeline for homeschooling families seeking encouragement, support, and connection. This year’s conference promises to be a beacon of inspiration and practical wisdom, with an array of reasons to attend that you won’t want to miss!

They will share their journeys, insights, and encouragement. You’ll leave each session feeling uplifted and ready to tackle your homeschooling challenges with renewed vigor.
  • Specialized Workshops: With workshops covering a broad range of topics—from getting started with homeschooling to excellence in writing to raising leaders with moral clairty—you’ll find sessions tailored to your unique homeschooling needs. These interactive workshops offer practical advice and hands-on learning strategies that you can immediately apply in your homeschool.

Rich Resources:

  • Exhibit Hall: Browse through the exhibit hall filled with educational materials, curriculum providers, and homeschooling tools. This is the perfect opportunity to discover new resources, ask questions directly to vendors, and find the materials that best suit your family’s educational needs.
  • Curriculum Swap: Have unused curriculum or books? Bring them to the curriculum swap (MUST BE PREREGISTERED) and find new-to-you materials at a fraction of the cost, while also sharing what you no longer need with other families. If you want to sell used curriculum, visit this page ASAP.

Community Connection + Family Fun

  • Support Groups: Learn about local homeschooling groups, co-ops, and other organizations that can provide ongoing support throughout the year. Connecting with these groups can make a significant difference in your homeschooling journey, providing regular interaction and shared learning opportunities. I would not have made it as far as I have without my core community.
  • Children’s Programs: Bring your kids along! What other kind of conference allows for that?! This year Patrick Nurre from Northwest Treasures will be offering the following parent/child sessions on volcanoes, volcanic rocks, and earthquakes, dinosaurs, and more.
  • Teen Track: Specifically designed for teenagers, this track includes workshops and activities geared towards the unique interests and needs of older students. It’s a fantastic way for teens to connect with peers and gain valuable insights into their educational and personal development.
